ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned till September 10 hearing of a petition requesting for barring President Asif Ali Zardari from travelling abroad after completion of his tenure.
A two-member apex court bench, comprising Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, heard the case.
During the course of proceedings, Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Imran-ul-Haq appeared on behalf of the federation and requested the court to give him some time for filing a reply.
Petitioner Shahid Aurakzai contended that President Zardari would be completing his tenure on September 8 and requested the court not to adjourn the case for long.
Leaders belonging to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have said on more than one occasions that President Zardari will do politics and work for his party after vacating the presidency on Sept 8.
