PESHAWAR: A group of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf activists have formed ‘Insaf Change Force’ (ICF) with the aim to hold the ministers accountable and work for the welfare of party workers to strengthen it in Peshawar.
Central spokesman of ICF Zahid Usman Khattak announced formation of the group while speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday. He said that the group members would voluntarily work for the welfare of people and facilitate their access to the provincial government.
He said that these volunteers had played a significant role during the general elections to deliver the message and manifesto of PTI to people, which resulted in a clear victory for the new political force with slogan of change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mr Khattak, however, complained that the party had ignored all those who worked for change after its success in May 11 general elections in the province, which created great unrest among them. He said that the PTI’s defeat in the by-election had created many questions in the minds of people. He said that the PTI was defeated in by-elections because the workers ignored by the party never showed interest in mobilising voters for its candidates.
Accompanied by party’s youth wing senior vice-president Furqan Kakakhel, and Laiq Zada, he said that the situation emerging after the by-polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had compelled the party volunteers to come closer and launch unified efforts.
“We have already registered about 400 members of our group for change and many more are ready to join us in coming days,” he claimed.
Mr Khattak said that his party wanted to bring a change in the society, but the process was very slow.
“Some people in the party are damaging our ideology and unable to implement the party manifesto for change,” he said and added that the party leaders and workers would have to work hard to come up to the people’s expectations.
He said that opportunists in the party were only favouring family members and friends instead of following the PTI manifesto and agenda in the province.
“Our (ICF) agenda and manifesto of the party are same and we do not want to create any forward block in the party,” he said and added that they would make efforts to strengthen the party and remove the gap between the provincial government and people.
On this occasion, he announced the ICF central executive committee, which included Laiq Siddiqui, Shamim Siddiqui, Wali Baig Afridi, Zahid Khattak, Hassan Khan, Rab Nawaz and Mr Inam. He also announced the group’s Nowshera district cabinet, which included Abid Khan president, Imran Haq general secretary and others.
