ISLAMABAD: Complying with the Supreme Court's orders here on Friday, the government withdrew increase in prices of petroleum products.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources issued a notification to withdraw increase in petroleum products prices fixed on June 1, 2013.
A three-member bench of the apex court had ordered the withdrawal of imposition of additional sales tax on petroleum products and imposition of GST.
The Supreme Court had reserved its verdict in the suo moto case pertaining to imposition of General Sales Tax (GST) on petroleum products without the parliament's prior approval.
According to the ministry’s notification, petroleum products prices have been reversed to their previous positions of June. The prices will now remain as:
Petrol: Rs 99.77 per litre High Speed Diesel: Rs 104.60 per litre Kerosene oil: Rs 93.79 per litre HOBC: Rs 133.95 per litre
