ISLAMABAD: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Gen Rashad Mahmood met with the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday, DawnNews reported.
The meeting was held at the PM House in Islamabad where the two discussed issues of national security as well as matters relating to the functioning and performance of the military.
The prime minister also met with the chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Mohammed Asif Sandila to discuss the matters related to Naval forces' functioning.
Moreover, CJCSC Mahmood also visited Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Headquarters. A contingent of the PAF presented guard of honour to CJCSC Mahmood during his visit.
Air Chief Marshall Tahir Rafique Butt briefed General Mahmood on affairs pertaining to the air force.
The Army Chief General Raheel Sharif called a Corps Commander Conference for Friday. The conference will be attended by the Corps Commanders and the principal staff officers to discuss the persisting internal and external security threats to the country.
Also on Thursday, Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq met with the prime minister and spoke about the legislation to take place in the parliament’s session which is to begin today.
