QUETTA: An alleged suicide bomber was killed in a mysterious explosion in Killa Saifullah district of the violence-ridden Balochistan province on Friday.
Levies sources told Dawn.com that an alleged suicide bomber was killed in a mysterious blast in Bandat Musazai area of Killa Saifullah district. They said that the alleged suicide bomber was riding a motorcycle before the huge blast.
“It is yet to be confirmed that whether explosives planted in motorcycle went off or mistakenly he blew himself up,” they said. Levies officials said they have recovered head of the alleged suicide bomber from the spot. The strength of blast blew body pieces of the alleged suicide bomber into thin air, they added.
In another incident, levies found two bullet-riddled dead bodies in Khuzdar district of Balochistan.
Levies said the two persons were picked up by unknown gunmen from Zehri area of district Khuzdar. Their dead bodies were found and brought to civil hospital Khuzdar for identification.
Balochistan suffers from ethnic tensions, sectarian violence between Sunni and Shia Muslims and a separatist insurgency which also targets non-natives.
Small separatist groups in impoverished Balochistan often target Pakistanis from other parts of the country. The separatists want autonomy and a greater share of the money derived from the province’s natural resources like gas and oil.
