KARACHI: Sindh's Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Wednesday, moved the Sindh High Court against the decision of an election tribunal to conduct voter's thumb verification process in NA-215 and PS-29 constituencies of the province's Khairpur district, DawnNews reported.
Syed Ghaus Ali Shah, a Pakistan Muslim League leader, had submitted a petition against the election of PPP’s Nawab Ali Wassan to the NA-215 and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to PS-29.
The Election Tribunal, Karachi, on Dec 6 ordered the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to carry out verification of thumb impressions of voters on entire ballots in a provincial assembly seat PS-29.
Moreover, the Sindh High Court reject a request by the PML- Functional and upheld the earlier decision of a tribunal to conduct a verification of votes in NA-202 constituency of Sindh's Shikarpur area.
Winner of the constituency, PML-F's Dr Mohammed Ibrahim Jatoi, had challenged the election tribunal’s order regarding verification of thumb impressions of the voters in his constituency.
