ISLAMABAD: Minister for Port and Shipping Kamran Michael Friday took serious notice of Transparency International's complaint about hiring of Helicopter services for five-year and fire fighting of worth Rs8.77 Billion.
The minister said in a statement that keeping in view the volume of shipping operations of Pakistani ports, it is neither required nor suggested by the professionals to hire any such services.
Moreover, the minister has ordered to present before him the detailed report of all the tenders given by the previous government.
He said zero tolerance would be given for inefficiency, malpractices and irregularities.
The minister said that in future, all tenders would be given by corporations and authorities after taking prior approval from the ministry as per rules and regulations.
