LAHORE: A PIA flight arrived in Lahore from London on Friday after a delay of over 50 hours.
The PK-758 was to leave for its destination on Dec 24 but a reported ‘technical fault’ delayed its departure.
When over 24 hours elapsed with the plane still to take off a brawl erupted between passengers and the PIA staff at the Heathrow Airport.
According to PIA staff, the fault could not be removed as engineers were not available because of Christmas holiday. Two engineers reportedly flew to London from Pakistan to remove the fault.
“This is outrageous. Our three important holidays were wasted because of the PIA,” said a passenger, Mohammad Anwar. “We have spent two agonising days at the airport hospital. I think it will be better if the national flag carrier is privatised to improve its affairs.”
