KARACHI: Two bodies were recovered from Karachi’s Lasbela Pull on Saturday whereas 22 suspects were arrested during a targeted operation conducted by Rangers personnel, DawnNews reported.
Two bodies were discovered near Lasbela Pull. The victims had been abducted and subjected to torture before being shot dead.
Meanwhile, over 600 Rangers’ personnel sealed the entry and exit points of SITE Metroville and conducted an operation. At least 22 suspects, including members of banned organisations, were arrested.
Furthermore, a heavy quantity of arms was also recovered from the suspects.
According to a Rangers’ spokesman, personnel from the anti-terrorism unit and lady soldiers also took part in the operation.
Meanwhile, two suspects were killed in a police encounter in Lyari’s Baghdadi area late on Friday night. According to the police, suspects were from a gang-war group.
Karachi, the largest metropolitan city of Pakistan, is riddled with targeted killings, gang wars, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism. Targeted operations led by Rangers’ forces with the support of police are ongoing in the city under a directive issued by the federal government against criminals already identified by federal, military and civilian agencies.
