KARACHI: The Karachi anti-terrorism court on Monday sentenced three men to death for the kidnapping and murder of a trader, DawnNews reported.
Shujaat Ali, Shehzad Memon and Mohammad Farhan, the three men convicted for the abduction and murder of trader Muhammad Nawaz, had carried out the kidnapping in 2010 and demanded 10 million rupees in ransom.
The three had killed Nawaz despite receiving the ransom from the trader’s family.
Businessmen working in Karachi, the country’s financial capital, are frequently targeted by extortionists and become victims of kidnappings for ransom.
