KARACHI: At least four people were and seven others wounded in separate traffic accidents on Tuesday in Karachi's Native Jetty bridge, Defence Housing Authority Phase V and Baldia town areas, DawnNews reported.
At least two persons were killed when two speeding motorcyles collided on Karachi's Native Jetty bridge. The bodies of the victims were shifted to Civil Hospita.
In another incident, two cars entered a fatal mishap killing two persons in Naval colony of Badia town area in Karachi.
Meanwhile, seven person were injured when a speeding bus overturned near Khadda Market area in Karachi's Defence Housing Authority Phase V.
The traffic police reported that the accident occurred as a result of the bus driver’s attempt to avoid a motorcyclist.
The driver and conductor of the bus managed to flee from the accident site.
Rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the victims were shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
Moreover, one of the victims was critically injured, according to the Hospital sources.
The bus was impounded by the police as a search for the bus driver and conductor went underway.
Pakistan has one of the world's worst records for fatal traffic accidents, blamed on poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
