MIRAMSHAH: At least six people were killed early on Wednesday when a mortar shell exploded in a house in the Shawal district of the North Waziristan region, DawnNews reported.
Moreover, the dead in the incident included four women, a man and a child.
The explosion took place in Shawal, about 55 kilometres (35 miles) west of Miramshah, the main town in North Waziristan tribal district, along the Afghan border.
Whereas in Peshawar, a planted bomb exploded injuring at least five people near the Sirki Gate area of the northwestern city.
Rescue sources said that a woman was also injured in the assault.
According to the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) personnel, at least half a kilogram of explosive material was used in the bomb.
