Cheating in exams Superintendent, his deputy removed

CHAKWAL, June 15: A superintendant, his deputy and a clerk were removed by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE). Rawalpindi over facilitating some candidates in cheating.

An inquiry against the accused and a teacher of the school has been ordered.

Dawn has learnt that Resident Inspector (RI) Prof Maqsood Hussain has found three answer sheets missing at the centre of Government High School No 1 when after the completion of the exam.

Later he caught a teacher busy solving the papers of three students in a separate room.

According to sources, the teacher took out a pistol and threatened RI Prof Maqsood of dire consequences if he dared to expose him.

The RI sent a complaint to the higher authorities, which led to the removal of Superintendent Ali Muhammad, Deputy Superintendant Haji Muhammad Shah, clerk Wazeer Khan and an inquiry against the teacher has been ordered.

Sources revealed that they had been involved in the dirty business of facilitating students in cheating by getting hefty amounts from them in return.

The students whose parents knew the trick paid Rs. 40,000 for facilitating cheating in all papers, for one paper the demand was 4000 to 6000.

In Chakwal, they were facilitated by a teacher in Government High School No 1.

When contacted, Controller Examinations Dr. Irshad Ahmad Chatha confirmed to Dawn that action had been taken against the accused. “The investigation is underway and I have sent an inspector to Chakwal to look into the matters further.”
