LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party has accused the Punjab government of removing flexes and banners displayed on city roads in connection with the death anniversary of its founder, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
"The administration removed PPP banners, flexes and party flags from The Mall, Liberty, Barket Market and Shaukat Ali Road," PPP Punjab Secretary-General Tanvir Ashraf Kaira alleged.
Talking to reporters before leaving for Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to participate in ZAB's death anniversary here on Thursday, he alleged the Punjab chief minister had directed the district coordination officer to "remove PPP flags and banners from city roads".
He questioned the democratic credentials of the PML-N leadership for showing no tolerance.
Mr Kaira also urged the Punjab government to take action against the Lashkar-i-Jhanghvi for giving life threats to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. "It is a very serious matter and the Punjab government's non-seriousness (in this regard) will not be tolerated," he said.
Meanwhile, PPP workers from other districts also left for Ghari Khuda Bakhsh by buses.
