LAHORE: A US warning of a terrorist strike reportedly kept away diplomats of various countries from two hotels of the provincial metropolis on Wednesday.
A diplomat of a Far East country told Dawn that he and his colleagues had to cancel an important meeting in a known hotel on The Mall after a US warning that the venue was likely to come under a terrorist strike.
They had to shift the venue to a Gulberg facility as the warning included another well-known hotel located in the vicinity of the Punjab Assembly, he said.
Management of one of the hotels confirmed that booking of rooms and other services of the hotel by some embassies were cancelled.
