ISLAMABAD: The anti-terrorism court in Islamabad, which was hearing the judges’ detention case against former military dictator Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf, ordered him to appear in person at its next hearing, DawnNews reported.

The court moreover directed Musharraf’s guarantors to ensure the former president’s production in its next hearing.

During the hearing, Musharraf’s counsel presented the ex-army strongman’s medical report and said he could not appear in court due to security reasons.

The court accepted Musharraf’s application requesting exemption from today’s hearing and adjourned the next hearing of the case to April 25.

The judges' detention case is based on an FIR against the retired general registered in August 2009 on the complaint of Chaudhry Mohammad Aslam Ghumman advocate.

He had asked the police to initiate legal proceedings against Musharraf for detaining over 60 judges, including then chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, after proclamation of a state of emergency in the country on Nov 3, 2007.
