KARACHI: At least 310 suspects were arrested by Rangers’ personnel and police during separate targeted raids in different parts of Karachi on Saturday, DawnNews reported.
Rangers' personnel conducted the operation in the areas of of Bhains Colony, Landhi, Quaidabad, Shah Latif Town, Korangi, Clifton, Baldia Town, Saeedabad and other areas.
During the raids, 130 suspects were arrested.
According to a Rangers’ spokesman, weapons and drugs were also seized from the suspects’ possession.
Further interrogation of the suspects was underway.
Separately, the city's East Zone police carried out raids in various areas of the metropolitan and arrested 180 suspects.
According to the police, weapons and drugs were recovered from the arrested men.
Karachi, the largest metropolitan city of Pakistan, is riddled with targeted killings, gang wars, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism. Targeted operations led by Rangers’ forces with the support of police are ongoing in the city under a directive issue by the federal government against criminals already identified by federal, military and civilian agencies.
