LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader and a former foreign minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri has said Narendra Modi will not adopt an aggressive policy against Pakistan if elected India's next premier.

At a Meet-the-Press event at the Lahore Press Club on Monday, Khurshid Kasuri, who also heads PTI's taskforce on Kashmir, said Modi's policies would be different from those of former Indian prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.

He said Mr Modi knew Pakistan was an atomic power. He also stressed that the Kashmir issue must be resolved through a dialogue.

Mr Kasuri said China wanted to invest in Pakistan but was not happy with the extremists in the country. He said the country's economy could grow faster, if extremists were controlled.

He stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should work to improve ties with neighboring countries, particularly Saudi Arab, Iran, Turkey and Afghanistan.
