KARACHI: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and Citizen-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) will establish a command and control centre at the KCCI within to facilitate the business community.
The decision was taken during a meeting between KCCI President Abdullah Zaki and CPLC Chief Ahmed Chinoy.
The centre would help resolve security issues and traders complaints about demand for extortion money, kidnappings for ransom, thefts, robberies etc.
CPLC Chief Ahmed Chinoy said that the officers of police and rangers would remain deployed round-the-clock at the control centre to monitor activities at some of the major commercial markets, particularly those situated in the old city area, says a KCCI press release.
President KCCI Abdullah Zaki said that the centre would be fully equipped with all required facilities and it would monitor commercial markets across the city through CCTV cameras and provide police reporting facility, besides having cells to resolve complaints.
