KOHAT: The provincial government would sack two more ministers and an adviser to chief minister on charges of corruption, said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA Ziaullah Bangash here on Tuesday.
Talking to Dawn, he said that PTI chairman Imran Khan had already approved sacking of the two ministers and an adviser.
The ministers and the adviser would be removed from the provincial cabinet very soon on the demand of ‘forward bloc’ of the party, he added.
Mr Bangash, who is also chairman of district development advisory committee, said that some MPAs had formed a ‘like-minded bloc’ to put pressure on the chief minister for removal of some corrupt members of his cabinet.
He said that the like-minded block had demanded removal of Adviser to Chief Minister Amjid Khan Afridi, who was elected MPA from Kohat.
Mr Bangash alleged the adviser had recommended a person, who was arrested red-handed by police from an official residence with a female teacher and FIR was also registered against him, for appointment as chairman of Kohat Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
The MPA said that the names of Shaukat Yousafzai and Yasin Khalil had been removed from the list of ministers and all perks had been withdrawn from them.
Mr Bangash claimed that the names of Minister for Revenue Ali Amin Gandapur, Minister for Minerals Ziaullah Afridi and Adviser to Chief Minister Amjid Ali Khan Afridi were sent to Imran Khan, who approved their removal from the provincial cabinet.
They would be removed for showing poor performance and misusing funds, he said. He alleged that some lawmakers, sitting on opposition benches, misused Rs35 billion royalty funds in the past.
“Now they are conspiring to derail the government,” the MPA said.
Meanwhile, the heirs of victims of Peshawar Chowk bomb blast received Rs5.1 million as compensation here on Tuesday.
Talking to the heirs of the victims on the occasion, the deputy commissioner said that money could not be a substitute for the life of a person but it could help the children and widows to some extent.
