PESHAWAR: A man employed with the Fata Secretariat was killed on Thursday in Peshawar’s Dir Colony when unknown armed men opened fire on a vehicle he was travelling in, DawnNews reported.
The area of Dir Colony lies on the suburbs of the provincial capital in the limits of the Yakatoot police station.
The Fata secretariat employee, named Ehsanullah, was accompanied by Khaista Rehman, the man driving the vehicle.
The attackers managed to escape the location.
Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, lies on the edge of Pakistan's tribal areas and has seen frequent attacks by militants in the past few years, with targets ranging from civilians to policemen and other law enforcement personnel.
