Balochistan govt ready to host IDPs, says Dr Malik

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Malik Baloch has clarified that his government was committed to support the internally displaced persons (IDP) from North Waziristan.

Speaking during the session of Balochistan Assembly on Tuesday, the chief minister said, "we have never stopped IDPs in the past nor we will stop them from entering into Balochistan in future".

The Balochistan Assembly session resumed here with Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali in the chair.

The chief minister informed the house that so far 758 IDPs have entered through Zhob distrcit of Balochistan from North Waziristan.

"We will host the IDPs," the chief minister assured the house while clarifying a report published in some newspapers that Balochistan government had decided to stop the flow of IDPs.

In the meantime, Chief of National Party, Senator Hasil Bizenjo stated that his party was given government by masses of Balochistan rather than military establishment.

Addressing a condolence reference to pay homage to slain NP minority member Hendry Masieh Baloch on Tuesday, Senator Bizenjo stated, "nobody had given us power in charity rather people reposed their confidence in our party".

Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr Malik Baloch and Central Secretary General NP Tahir Bizenjor also addressed the condolence reference.

"We had refused to be part of any unconstitutional governments," Senator Bizenjo said, adding that NP always stood by rule of law and supremacy of constitution in the country.

"We were put behind the bars for our refusal to be part of unconstitutional governments in Balochistan," he said.

Senator Bizenjo mentioned that despite all odds, his party contested the historic May 11th polls and people of Balochistan reposed confidence in them.

Paying homage to the slain minority member, Senator Bizenjo said that Hendry had spent his whole life for Baloch and basic human rights.

Earlier addressing the condolence reference, Dr Malik Baloch stated that Hendry played an important role for upholding the banner of democracy and rule of law in the country.

"We respect all communities living in Balochistan," Dr Baloch said.

He said all nationalities living in the province enjoy equal rights and for this purpose his party had always endeavored.
