QUETTA: A high-level meeting reviewed on Sunday measures to strengthen coordination between civilian and military intelligence agencies to curb crime and restore peace.
Addressing the meeting, Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani said: “The provincial government in collaboration with the federal government has been taking concrete measures to restore peace in Balochistan and establish the writ of the government.”
He said joint efforts were afoot to bring to justice anti-social elements involved in kidnappings for ransom, targeted killings, highway robberies and other crime.
The meeting was attended by Capital City Police Officer Mir Zubair Mehmood, Commissioner Quetta and deputy commissioners of different districts and senior officials of law-enforcement agencies
Mr Durrani said “security would also be provided to Nato oil tankers and containers plying on national highways passing through Balochistan”.
