PESHAWAR: The total number of internally displaced persons from North Waziristan Agency has reached 457,048 individuals, comprising 36,904 families.
According to daily report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, registration didn’t take place at Saidgai checkpost on Friday due to curfew.
Of the total figures, 120,276 are male, 144,112 are female and 192,660 are children.
According to Dera Ismail Khan deputy commissioner, total number of IDPs reached 2,593 families with 30,990 individuals. The district administration has established three government assistance centres to facilitate and provide instant relief in the form of food and non-food items to DPs.
In Bannu, in addition to already established three distribution points, a fourth distribution point has also been set up at vocational training centre for women.
Similarly, in Tank, total number of registered IDPs is 724 individuals. In Lakki Marwat, the total number of IDPs is 87,972 families.
In Kohat, total 36 families have arrived, comprising 226 Individuals, while in Hangu, 17 families comprising 474 individuals have arrived.
