ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) issued a notification increasing the per kg price of compressed natural gas (CNG) on Tuesday.
According to the new prices CNG would be sold for Rs76.35 per kilogram in Region 1 (Potohar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan) with an increase of Rs2.1 from Rs.74.25.
Similarly the per kilogram price of CNG in Region 2 (Sindh, Punjab,and its areas excluding Potohar) was increased by Rs5.36 per kilo from Rs66.14 to Rs71.5.

The increase in price was approved by Ogra on the pretext of gas infrastructure development cess, whereas other recommendations for price hikes, submitted by CNG filling station owners association and others over increase in other costs and expenses, were rejected.
