SIALKOT: The Daska City police registered a case on Saturday against their colleagues — constables Iftikhar Sandhu, Muhammad Nawaz, Rana Zulfiqar and Zahid Nagra — for torturing Zaheer Ahmad in the police station a month ago.
The case was registered on the orders of a local court judge on a petition by lawyer Imran Saleem. The first information report said the constables tortured Zaheer Ahmad, a cousin of the lawyer, on June 4.
The police officials also harassed the lawyer for asking the reason for police torture on Zaheer.
The suspects held the tortured youth in Daska city’s police station for quite sometime.
Drowns
A minor child drowned in the River Tavi while three other youths are feared drowned in the Chenab.
Bajwat-based Usman Ayan, 10, drowned in the Tavi. Local residents fished out the body.
Sultanabad-based youths Kashif and Tassawar are feared drowned in the Chenab while Jaamkey-Chatta resident Muhammad Zahid, 35, is feared drowned in the Chenab near village Thathi Baloch.
Rescue 1122 divers are searching for them.
Kidnapped
Four women were kidnapped in separate incidents in Sialkot district on Saturday.In village Jaamkey Cheema-Motra, Zeeshan Masih, Habeeb Masih and Bushra Bibi allegedly kidnapped Isran Ehsan from her house. Police registered a case.
In Muradpur, Nabeel and Jaffar Husain kidnapped ‘M’ from her grandmother’s house. Three people kidnapped ‘A’ from her parents’ house in Dharam Kot-Satrah, Daska.
Three car riders kidnapped ‘R’ from a bricks kiln in Binnah Baryar. Police registered separate cases with no arrest or recovery.
