SUKKUR: Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that his party is not taking part in the long march against democracy but made it clear in the same breath the PPP is not supporting Nawaz Sharif but supporting the government for the sake of democracy.
Today, Pakistan Army was fighting against terrorists and the whole nation was standing firm behind their soldiers, he said.
He was speaking at a seminar on July 5 military takeover organised by the Sukkur Union of Journalists at the press club. A dictator broke Pakistan into two and because of another dictator, the army was in a war against terrorism, he said.
He said the present government should also observe July 5 as a black day to convey a message to those who were always busy conspiring against democracy in the country.

He praised the media men who fought against dictatorship during military rule in the country and laid down sacrifices for the democracy. The PPP had given great sacrifices for strengthening the democracy in the country and the party, he said, adding many wars were raging in the Islamic world today but there was no leader who could stop them, he said.
