RAWALPINDI: Two women died under mysterious circumstances at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) on Friday, police said.
In the first incident, a woman was brought to BBH on Thursday after her condition deteriorated. But she could not survive.
Police said on the complaint of the woman’s parents the victim’s husband and her in-laws were arrested on murder charges.
The woman’s husband had arrived from Qatar on Thursday and went to his in-laws’ house on Adiala Road to bring back his wife.
The police believe that the woman had taken poisonous pills. However the real cause of her death would be known after the postmortem report, the police official said.
In another incident, a woman allegedly committed suicide by drinking acid.
A resident of Kural, the woman was brought to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where she died in the intensive care unit.
According to the police, the woman had been married for 15 years and had five children. She had mental problems and was under treatment at a private hospital in Sadiqabad.
On Thursday, she drank a bottle of acid used to clean toilet after which her condition worsened and later died in the early hours of Friday.
