CHAMAN: Seven shops were gutted in a fire that erupted in a timber godown on Chaman’s Boghar road on Saturday.
Police said people present in the godown were cooking a meal for sehri when the fire erupted in the timber stocked there that also engulfed nearby shops.
No loss of life was reported in the incident. The people of the area extinguished the fire after hectic efforts.
The police have been looking into the incident. Further investigation was in process.
Chaman is a small town in the southwestern province of Balochistan and is one of the two main crossing points for supplies for American and Nato troops fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
