LAHORE, July 16: Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin along with food safety officers sealed two factories for selling fake drinks and lodged an FIR against the administration of a juice factory.
A factory producing fake mineral water under the name of AGFA-7 in Sher Shah Colony was sealed as well as Season Juice Factory on Raiwind Road for selling expired juice after repacking.
Yasin told the media the government was utilising all available resources for providing unadulterated edible items to citizens. He warned that no individual or organisation would be allowed to sell adulterated items and “play with the lives of people”. He directed officers of the Food Authority to check quality of items and cleanliness at hotels, restaurants and factories. If any organisation was found involved in providing substandard items or operating under poor sanitary conditions strict action should be taken against them, the minister directed.
Yasin later visited Ramazan bazaars in Sanda, Shahdara, Harbanspura, Tajpura, Shadman, Gulshan-i-Ravi and Islampura. He checked the quality of daily-use items and directed shopkeepers to deal with consumers politely and sell commodities at the rates fixed by the Punjab government.
