QUETTA: Five candidates, including one each from the PML-N, PkMAP and JUI-F, are in the run for two vacant seats of the Senate from Balochistan whose election will be held in the provincial assembly on Thursday.
The seats fell vacant after resignations of Lashkari Raisani and the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl’s Maulana Mohammad Khan Shirani. Maulana Shirani resigned from the Senate after he was elected Member of the National Assembly from Zhob-Shirani in the general elections.
The candidates for the two seats are Sardar Yaqoob Nasar of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Abdul Rauf Lala of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Engineer Fazl Karim Kakar of the JUI-F, Haji Wali Mohammad and Imran Shah.
