QUETTA: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court directed the crimes branch of police on Monday to complete investigation against former president retired General Pervez Musharraf in the Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case and submit the challan in the court.
The bench comprising Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mengal and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan reserved judgment in former military ruler’s bail petition.
The court remarked that it was the responsibility of the government to provide security to Gen Musharraf.
Barrister Mohammad Ilyas Siddique appeared on behalf of the petitioner Sohail Rajput, the counsel for Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti, opposed the grant of bail to the petitioner. He said that since the petitioner was not in the custody of the provincial government his bail petition should be dismissed.
The Anti-Terrorism Court Quetta has already rejected Gen Musharraf’s bail plea.
