ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday called upon Indian authorities to ensure protection of "Dosti" bus passengers.
Foreign Office Spokesman Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry in a statement said, “It is essential for both sides to take steps to cool passions and resume meaningful dialogue.”
Commenting on last week's incident when protestor's in India's Amritsar city had stopped the Lahore-bound Dosti Bus, the spokesman said it was regrettable incident.
The spokesperson added that India should also ensure the security of the Pakistani embassy and its staff.
The protestor's in India had stopped the Dosti bus against the killing of five Indian soldiers at the Line of Control (LoC) on August 5.
India had accused Pakistani troops of involvement in the killing.
