ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday issued polling scheme for the upcoming by-polls to be held on August 22.
The ECP announced to establish 7,622 polling stations in 42 constituencies, declaring 1,987 of them sensitive and 1,657 most sensitive.
The three districts of Karachi were declared sensitive while 724 polling stations in Punjab were classified as sensitive and 287 most sensitive.
Meanwhile, all the contesting candidates from NA-48 Islamabad by-elections have been summoned by the Election Commission on Tuesday in connection with an application filed by Anjum Aqeel about cancellation of withdrawal of his nomination papers.
There are 14 candidates in the field for the seat.
Most of the seats have been vacated by members, who were elected from more than one constituency in the May 11 general elections. However in few constituencies, elections were not held due to death of candidates.
