KARACHI: The draft of the Sindh Local Government law 2013 was presented before the provincial cabinet at its meeting here on Monday.
The meeting was presided over by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
A CM House statement said that the draft was presented at the cabinet meeting by a committee constituted in this regard.
The committee was consisted of provincial ministers Nisar Khuhro, Syed Owais Muzaffar, Sharjeel Inam Memon, Dr Sikandar Mondrio, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani and Adviser to CM Syed Murad Ali Shah.
Members of the provincial cabinet also gave their suggestions in this regard.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said that the draft would also be posted on the website of the provincial government and that more and more representation would be given to the elected representatives.
He said the draft would also be given to all the political parties and that the committee formed with reference to the local government ordinance would meet delegations of various political parties.
The provincial information minister was of the view that it was the priority of the government to provide justice to the people at their doorsteps. He further stated that the new local bodies elections would be held on party basis.
