LAHORE, June 18: The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) is sending a high level fact-finding mission to Balochistan in the wake of Saturday’s terrorist attacks in Quetta and Ziarat. The mission will be headed by Asma Jahangir.
While condemning the terrorist attacks in Quetta and Ziarat in the strongest possible terms, HRCP said in a press statement on Tuesday that the attacks had attained additional significance in view of the recent political change in the country.
In view of the challenges that the terrorist attacks have posed to the people and the new government, HRCP is dispatching the fact-finding mission to Balochistan, headed by former Supreme Court Bar Association president Asma Jahangir. The mission will meet senior government officials and politicians in the province.
