PESHAWAR, June 20: The newly-posted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shehzad Arbab on Thursday directed head of all departments to ensure use of official transport as per authorisation. He also asked the administrative heads of respective departments to allot specific slots of their time to redress public complaints.
According to a handout, the use of official transport was subject to authorisation along with limit on fuel consumption and type of transport. In order to ensure judicious use of public resources, it said, it had been desired that administrative secretary as principal accounting officer would be required to provide monthly certificate to the effect that he himself, all authorised officers in his department, institutions under his control and officers in the field units, used transport according to their authorisation only.
The statement said that specimen of the certificate had been circulated for the purpose. In a separate directive, the chief secretary directed that office timings be observed strictly in all departments.
It said that Mr Arbab asked all secretaries to reach out to the people to redress their problems and provide them relief by ensuring effective government response.
