ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court in the federal capital city on Friday accepted the request by the federal government which had sought more time to submit a report concerning the security of former military dictator Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf in the judges detention case, DawnNews reported.

Earlier during the day, Assistant Commissioner Islamabad Waqas Rasheed appeared before Justice Atiq-ur-Rehman of the ATC and submitted a report on behalf of the police regarding the security of former president Musharraf.

The court expressed its dissatisfaction over the report over the lack of the signatures of Inspector General of Police Sikandar Hayat and ordered for the report to be re-submitted after it was signed by the IGP.

The court then took a short recess.

Meanwhile, the guarantor for the former military strongman and the federal interior secretary were also summoned by the anti-terror judge.

After the recess the police report was resubmitted in the court, after it had been signed by the IGP.

Moreover, officials of the National Crises Management Cell (NCMC) appeared before the bench instead of the federal interior secretary and requested the court for more time to submit the report over the security of Pervez Musharraf.

The court accepting the request adjourned the hearing over the case until January 9.

In its previous hearing the court had sought reports from the Islamabad police, administration and the interior ministry over an application submitted in a police report in which the deputy inspector general (security) expressed his inability to provide security to the former military ruler during his presence in the court and had suggested a change in venue of the trial.
