RAWALPINDI: The special anti-terrorist court in Rawalpindi on Saturday issued summons to 10 witnesses in the Benazir Bhutto murder case, DawnNews reported.

The case was heard by special ATC judge Pervaiz Rasool Joya in the premises of Adiyala jail.

Moreover, the judge also issued a notice to prosecution on the bail applications filed by arrested accused Mohammad Rafaqat, Hasnain Gul and Aitzaz Shah.

The judge subsequently adjourned the hearing to Jan 25.

Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in a gun-and-bomb attack outside Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh on Dec 27, 2007 while Musharraf was president. She was killed after addressing an election campaign rally in the city.

Last year in August, former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf was indicted on three counts over Benazir’s murder.

Others accused in the case include former City Police Officer (CPO) of Rawalpindi Saud Aziz, then SP Khurram Shahzad, Sher Zaman and Abdul Rasheed.
