GWADAR: Police exhu-med a body of an African national on Tuesday from a grave in Thalafi area of Gwadar city, sources revealed.
Police and Levies personnel received information about the burial of an African national in the outskirts of the town.
“Police recovered the body from the grave in the presence of a magistrate and later shifted it to the district hospital,” sources said adding the cause of death will be ascertained after an autopsy.
“Apparently, there was no wound or torture mark on the body”.
Police was of the view that the man recovered from the grave could be a hostage of drug smugglers. “We are investigating the incident”.
In another incident, a man was killed and another injured in the Kech district of Turbat in a clash between police and an armed group, on Monday night.
Officials said that armed men attacked the police force with automatic weapons in Pahtan Kahoor area.
However, police retaliated and a heavy exchange of fire continued for an hour, resulting in the death of an attacker and inflicting injuries to another.
A policeman was also injured who had been admitted to the district hospital Turbat.
The armed men escaped from the site along with their injured accomplice.
Police shifted the body of the attacker to the hospital.
