PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party has accused Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led provincial government of ignoring the under-developed districts, including Peshawar, in the budget 2014-15, and also of dodging the people on hollow slogans.

Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, the QWP Peshawar district chairman Mohammad Ibrar Khalil said that the allocations for different schemes were insufficient.

He said that the government didn’t announce any mega project in the budget to help solve the long awaited problems of people. He said being capital city of the province, Peshawar needed huge funds and management to overcome the problems of communication, water, health, education, electricity and natural gas.

QWP Peshawar general secretary Saifullah Khan and other activists were also in attendance.

Mr Khalil said that people voted Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf to power in order to give it a chance to materialise its tall claim about bringing a change in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but it failed to honor its pre-election commitments.

He said the PTI-led ruling coalition had taken not steps to resolve key issues like lawlessness, kidnapping for ransom, unemployment, price hike and energy crisis in the province.

Owing to ‘wrong policies’ of the federal and provincial governments, the QWP leader said the poor people of KP had been suffering due to deteriorating law and order. He added that due to violence industries and businesses in KP were shifting to other parts of the country.
